Talk to Teachers Campaign

An estimated 1500 teachers and paraprofessionals attended a BTU Rally at 26 Court Street on January 18 united around our message "Talk to Teachers."

The school district's attempt to spin our contract dispute as one solely between the district and the union leadership clearly has gone nowhere as the union's message — "Talk to Teachers" — has clearly resonated broadly with our membership.

Our members are frustrated by the lack of movement in contract negotiations and the steady stream of misrepresentations of the union's negotiating positions.

Our members were joined by four city councilors and dozens of other city union officials. They all want the district to wrap up the negotiating process and produce a contract that is good for students, affordable to the city, and fair to our members.
